Back to School

We feel like we are back in school! We arrived at our training facility on Monday and began classes Wednesday. Things are going well, but we are staying VERY busy!

This is a book we’re just
starting to read. Anyone have any
thoughts or opinions on it?

Please pray for us as we get into a new routine and try to learn as much as possible over the next week.

Also, there are LOTS of people living and working together. Please pray that everyone stays well and that sickness does not become a problem in this close environment.

Thanks for checking in. We’ll try to write again soon!

  1. Deanna and Derek love this book. I tried to read it, but for some reason could not make it through. The author is a self-proclaimed atheist and takes a hard stance against Christianity. He has a somewhat compelling argument, but I don’t know that in their heart of heart the people of Scandi are a happy as he contends. It should be a good read for you Jen.

  2. Okay, I hate to tell you this, but it's time for you and Zack to "trade kids" in photos. William is tall enough now that you're almost obscured. Adelise is gaining on me, so I feel your pain!

Praying for you guys during this phase!

  3. I'm so glad I remembered to check your blog today! Keep up the posting and pics. I love to read your thoughts about this wonderful adventure. Eric and I are already talking about coming to visit you guys. The book looks interesting. I will have to check it out. Also, in thinking about whether there is a spiritual void behind the rosy glow of Nordic society, I have to recommend the following link and I'd be curious to read about what you and Zack observe. I bring up the subject of addiction because at least in 12 step programs, reliance upon God or a Higher Power is strongly emphasized. Is there a correlation perhaps between a secular/agnostic society and a heavy drinking culture? Or is that an unfair assumption given the fact that addiction can be found in every society?
